An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Head of Technical Reporting. This role will provide support the Director of Finance Reporting and his/her direct reports in delivering timely, accurate and well informed financial results. The role holder will provide deep technical expertise and guidance on the application of accounting and actuarial principles as they relate to all aspects of financial reporting, new developments and improvements. The role holder will provide technical support to BAU as well as projects throughout the business impacting on financial reporting. Experience: Significant experience of delivering advanced financial findings and results to an audience with varying degrees of sophistication by breaking down complex information and challenging others to appropriately limit technical jargon Significant experience disseminating complex information to internal and external stakeholders (including regulators and rating agencies) in an effective way Significant experience of making decisions based on the financial information provided and seeking additional information where required Significant experience of using knowledge of the external environment to shape thinking internally Significant experience of financial reporting and leveraging expertise to monitor adherence and highlight areas for improvement Significant experience of working across departments and functions to deliver results Experience of leading technical teams often delivering under pressure and/or to tight timescales Experience of providing support to complex, diverse, ambiguous and high value programmes / projects Knowledge: Detailed understanding of the regulatory environment and Solvency II and IFRS developments and their impact on the results that are produced Detailed knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory frameworks Detailed knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors Detailed knowledge of trends, best practice and developments within the industry Expert level knowledge of the financial dynamics of the business and how key factors influence the various financial measures Deep technical expertise in reporting and disclosure Understanding of complex financial instruments Professional qualifications: Qualified Actuary or Accountant At Prudential we work hard to create an environment that enables everyone to flourish and we actively encourage diversity across the business.
