IT Security Engineer - Data/GDPR - Nottingham

IT / Security / Manager / Data Protection / GDPR / Integrity / Confidentiality / Systems / Infrastructure

IT Security Engineer required for a leading client based in Nottingham to be responsible for protecting the security of information and systems, and ensuring the legitimate access to this information. You will be required to support and maintain current security systems, resolve security incidents, and ensure the security best practices and baselines are kept up to date and used across all IT systems.

You will work with different teams across the business to ensure compliance with Data Protection/GDPR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to updating and maintaining the IT Security strategy and plan
  • Manage day to day security of networks, systems and devices across multiple sites
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure systems are up to date with the latest security patches
  • Investigate suspected attacks and help manage security incidents
  • Update and maintain change management documentations
  • Perform security risk assessments of equipment and systems
  • Manage the development, and implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures

Key Skills

  • Previous experience with installing, supporting and maintaining IT security
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure including network, servers, storage, and software systems
  • Experience and sound understanding (support and configuration) of the following is required:
  • Firewalls
  • Anti-Virus (AV)
  • Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Web and Email filtering
  • Vulnerability assessment and remediation
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Security patching
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate to both internal and external stakeholders

The salary for this position is between £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and my client offer an excellent benefits package
