Entry Level / Graduate - Manufacturing Engineering

Our client is a major Manufacturing business based in Surrey seeking 3 Entry Level / Graduates candidates to join the business and work in the Manufacturing Engineering team to help develop processes and learn new skills. Based on a 6-12 month fixed term contract initially it is a chance to shine in a forward thinking environment.

Assisting with the creation and improvement of key manufacturing documents as (but not limited to):

  • Work centres
  • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • BRC (Build Record Cards)
  • Process Flows
  • PFMEAs (Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis)
  • Layouts

Delivering key project tasks as (but not limited to):

  • Implementing visual management tools as (but not limited to): KPI boards, Andon systems, LPA boards, Production tracking boards
  • Implementing digital systems for production tracking
  • Improving the lineside tooling management system
  • Time & motion studies and workload distribution charts

Entry Level / Graduate - Manufacturing Engineering

Key Functions of Job

  • Ensure all records are produced and maintained to a high standard, which as a minimum must conform to ISO 9001.
  • Work with ME to document and define the required methods and instructions to ensure that products are built using the defined process and to the agreed specifications.
  • Effective communication of build / process changes to production personnel.
  • Work under the ME supervision to validate BOM?s & work centre maintenance.
  • Creation and continual update of manufacturing documents.
  • Assist in the accurate recording and evaluation of build / process times (via shop floor data collection process) with the objective to increase labour efficiency and productivity (including training).
  • Problem solving & investigations including those related to customer concerns.
  • Perform measurements and data gathering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Perform various data structuring and data analysis tasks.
  • Ensure safe system of work in accordance with risk assessments and method statements.
  • This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of functions associated with the role of Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer.
  • It is merely an outline and will be subject to continual review and amendment.

Qualifications and Training:

  • HNC or degree
