Role - Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location - Leicester

Salary - £24,000 - £30,000 + 25 days holiday + pension

The Company

ATA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our client based in Leicester. Established in for over a century, they are involved in the R&D, design, manufacture, build, install & service of specialist industrial systems. They currently have sites in nearly 50 countries, with an impressive $3 billion annual sales figure.

The role is based in their Leicester manufacturing site, which was established around the year 2000 and makes specialist systems for customers throughout the UK. With a total revenue generated in the UK in 2016 of £23.5 million split between their two main sites, this position has bundles of progression opportunity.

The Role

The role of a Continuous Improvement Engineer will involve:

- Support continuous improvement activities and cycle time reduction
- Ensure NC programming solutions are delivered on time and budget
- Work with engineering teams at manufacturing site to ensure cost effective manufacturing methodologies are implemented
- Perform program modifications and problem solve fixture/tooling problems
- Support continuous improvement activities and cycle time reduction
- Creating anything from 10 to 40 programmes per week
- Set programmes on to the CNC & laser machines for first-off
- Identifying risks, proposing solutions & timely delivery

The Candidate

To be successful as a Continuous Improvement Engineer you will need:

- An engineering qualification e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, HND etc.

- Experience within Sheet metal manufacturing is ideal
- NC Programming experience, using CAM software
- Ability to read, interpret & understand engineering drawings & modern manufacturing methodologies
- Experience in continued improvement initiatives
