An MI Analyst job in Brighton for almost £35K + Benefits + Bonuses


Hays Specialist Recruitment is now shortlisting applications to present, for consideration for interview, to The Pensions Regulator, which is situated in Brighton, East Sussex, as they seek to recruit an experienced Data Analyst to join the MI and Analysis team.

The role will be working with large volumes of operational data and providing actionable insight to decision makers across Frontline Regulation in the form of reports, analysis or key performance indicators. The MI analyst will be passionate about working with data but equally be able to package their findings into non technical presentations and speak confidently to all levels within the organisation.


The job responsibilities will require the successful candidate to:


- produce reports and dashboards using large volumes of data
- produce and maintain operational models and evidence based volumetric forecasts using a range of techniques and software
- conduct trend analysis and data mining
- build relationships with a variety of non technical users in order to capture requirements, discuss prototypes and present findings
- answer business questions by providing clear visualisations and create actionable insight
- confidently present your analysis and findings to all levels
- be a mentor to the team's analyst intern
- ensure peer review processes are followed on all reports maintaining high levels of accuracy

Essential and Desirable criteria


Essential
- Experience of manipulating large volumes of data and extracting insight
- Ability to manipulate and present data in Excel (V lookups, pivot tables, data visusalisations and descriptive statistics)
- Knowledge of forecasting and descriptive statistical techniques with the ability to produce strong data visuals
- Experience of interpreting business requirements
- Educated to degree level in mathematics / statistics / sciences or equivalent background
- Experience of peer review and quality checks

Desirable
- Intermediate SQL coding skills using Microsoft SQL server reporting services or similar reporting tool
- Experience of working with MS SharePoint
- Experience of BI tools (SSRS/ Birst /Tableau)
