Systems Engineer (Microsoft plus-: Citrix, VMWare, Azure, Networking) Warrington £40 - £45k per year
The client is an established organisation, looking for a Systems Engineer to join a well-established and highly skilled Technical Services team. This role requires an experienced Systems Engineer who can work under broad direction, either alone or as a member of a team, being fully responsible for meeting allocated technical and /or project /supervisory objectives. You will be able to analyse, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets. You will have had several years as a Third Line Support Engineer and will also be familiar implementing project solutions. You will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support and will be capable of undertaking work that requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts. The Technical Services team provides professional, customer-orientated services in a high quality, fast-paced ITIL environment. The successful candidate will be given every opportunity to maintain awareness of developments in the industry by keeping relevant skills up to date through a business funded personal development training programme. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in five or more of the following areas: * Active Directory * Azure * Citrix * Exchange * Networking * SCCM * VMWare * Security * SQL Key responsibilities of the role: * Management, installation and configuration of all server operating systems, roles and applications, including IIS, DNS, DHCP, DFS. * Provide support and mentoring for the 1st and 2nd line support teams. * Conduct technical evaluations of products and propose detailed physical architecture designs. * Analyse problems, evaluate technical issues, test, maintain, modify, integrate, monitor and ensure robust infrastructure systems. * Identify any potential risks to service as part of Event Monitoring. * Identify any potential areas for improvement as part of Event Monitoring. * Conduct preventative maintenance activities and report/execute remedial actions. * Awareness of security of all systems and data in line with GDPR compliance requirements. * Ensure compliance with ITIL practises and GDPR requirements. * Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant legislation.
