This opportunity is an ideal role for an aspiring educational or clinical psychologist. You will gain a year as a learning support assistant at a caring and compassionate school helping a happy and fun young man.
This inclusive school believes that every child should have the same joyful and invigorating learning opportunities. This young man has adjusted well to the school and the class teachers have adapted their lessons to encourage development. This Year 2 boy works from an i-pad due to manual dexterity difficulties. He loves to be involved in the class and really enjoys working alongside his fellow learners.
It would be a big benefit if you understand how to use an i-pad - the software ids quite intuitive and so you will be able to pick it up rather quickly. You will be working very closely with the class teacher to adapt and adjust learning objectives to include this young man.
The school SENCo is very keen to utilise graduates in roles such as this and will support your own development with training opportunities.
The school is based in Forest Hill, Lewisham South London. Less than 2 minutes' walk from the Overground service - there is some parking for those who drive.
