CONNECTIVITY ADVANCED RESEARCH ENGINEER
The MTC seeks several FEA / CFD Engineers to join the growing need for the most advanced simulation team in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast growing state of the art R&D organisation and help play an integral part in its future growth and the development of UK Manufacturing.
The main purpose of this role is to support the Intelligent Automation and Informatics theme in particular the Controls and Connectivity team with creative problem solving, solution concepts, system design and integration.
The post holder is expected to manage their own projects, support project management by the creation and maintenance of project plans, status reports, and conduct risk reviews in line with MTC's best practises.
Provide technical and leadership to others in areas of their expertise with an eye on your own career development through mentoring, coaching and training courses.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering projects related to industrial control and connectivity and in particular projects related to enabling interoperability between manufacturing production and operational systems the enterprise systems.
The post holder is expected to contribute to Digital Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 related projects specifically in the controls and connectivity aspects.
Good knowledge and usually a minimum of 3 year experience in industrial control/systems integration.
Generation of new project ideas in alignment with the theme's strategy.
Technical leadership and management of project and/or work package portfolio >£100K;
Lead project proposal and business case writing for small and medium projects.
Lead technical liaison with customer/s during project delivery.
Lead engagement with existing customers to win repeat business.
Good level of awareness and desirable experience in digital manufacturing control and connectivity requirements and technologies;
Experience with high level programming languages such as Java, C#, and C++, SQL and Python.
Excellent research skills, report writing and presentation skills will be needed from day one.;
Relevant degree or Chartered Engineer or working towards professional qualification is a must along with demonstrable project management skills and experience with external customer engagement.
