Linux NOC Engineer: Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience Candidate Key Words: Linux, Salt Stack, Puppet, Ansible, Nagios, Zabbix, TCP/IP, Firewalls, VMware, Networking, Cisco, Load Balancing, LAN, WAN, VLAN, Routing, Switching Location: Central London A client of IntaPeople`s are looking for a Linux focussed NOC Engineer to join their growing team and help, using their talent, skills and knowledge to perform three main roles; to ensure maximum service and performance, to maintain hardware and software, and to provide support services. Working within the NOC environment the successful candidate will be the first to respond to network incidents, especially focussed on security aspects. They will also maintain network devices and servers, including upgrades, configuration, and replacements. As it is a small team, you will also need to be self-motivated, have a positive approach to your work, ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task on several projects. The role is working within a NOC environment providing 24/7 support for the company therefore you will be working on a 12 hour shift pattern; 4 days on and 4 days off. In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skillset and technological knowledge; - Excellent Linux skills (RedHat, Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu) - Experience with automation (Salt Stack, Puppet, Ansible etc) and monitoring (Nagios, Zabbix, Solarwinds etc) tools. - Strong networking understanding (Ideally CCNA/CCNP certified or to an equivalent level) - Experience with L2 and L3 networks, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Routing and Switches. It would also be beneficial to have knowledge of the below but this is not a necessary requirement for the role; - Experience with intrusion detection tools, cloud technologies and virtualisation environments. - Experience with scripting (Perl, Python or Bash), SNMP and Load Balancing.
