IT Systems Project Manager
IT Systems Project Manager required for our clients who are a leading Scottish law firm. Reporting to the head of IT the main purpose of this role is to maintain and enhance the firm’s infrastructure through the maintenance and development of technology systems to achieve the firm’s business objectives. The role is split 60% Technical and 40% Project Management. Although the role is Edinburgh based occasional travel to the Glasgow office is required. Responsibilities: Point of escalation for the Service Desk System monitoring, checks and backups System maintenance, development and testing Server and Infrastructure hardware support Delivery and revision of work plans to meet changing needs and requirements Identify resources, assign responsibilities and accept a share of work packages Manage day-to-day operational tasks and projects Ensure documentation for all tasks undertaken is updated and appropriately stored Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of projects Work with developers to define and document questions, liaise with business to get new requirements and explain feasibility Submit project status reports, host and document regular meeting, review bugs, be involved in testing, plan software releases, anticipate and react to change Identify business requirements, opportunities for process engineering, automation and strategies to advance the firms technology. Technical knowledge required: Prince 2 accreditation or equivalent PM qualification with experience in running IT Projects using a PM Framework Up to date experience of using VMware 6, Server 2012 R2& 2016, Exchange 2016, SQL Server, SCOM, SCCM and Windows 10 Knowledge of Microsoft applications, document management systems, practice management systems and IP telephony Understanding of software packages used in the legal profession such as imanage, Elite Enterprise, BigHand, DocsCorp, Mimecast, Mobileiron would be advantages but not essential Understanding of regulations that apply to accreditations such as ISO27001, ISO9001 and GDPR Key characteristics: Positive and professional attitude in delivery to high standard in a busy environment Able to work under pressure, use initiative and prioritise own workload Good communicator and diplomatic. Able to communicate with non-IT staff in non-technical terms Flexible approach to team working Salary circa £40,000 with a benefits package including pension, bonus and life assurance schemes.
