Main Purpose of Job
Reporting to the Onshore Commissioning Manager and Onshore Package Manager. Responsible for scheduling,
coordinating, witnessing and signing of the commissioning on all plant, apparatus and auxiliary equipment up to 400kV within the EA ONE Onshore Package and coordinating activities with the Offshore package. To be accredited to National Grid TP141. Be flexible in their working approach as working days and times can be influenced by outages and programme. Be able to investigate problems and provide technical solutions.
Key Tasks
* Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environment compliance and continuous improvement;
* Prepare and update a Commissioning Programme as commissioning proceeds;
* Commissioning of primary, secondary and auxiliary equipment up to 400kV;
* Responsible for verifying that all equipment is fit for purpose;
* Be able to provide technical support where fault faults are found and propose technical solutions;
* Collating and signing off all commissioning documentation; manage and collate the commissioning technical
record.
* Assess engineering documentation, feasibility and compliance with the requirements of the project; update
drawings during commissioning, provide as-installed drawings;
* Responsible for coordinating and witnessing the commissioning of all Plant Protection Systems, Network
Automation and Substation Control Systems, Telecommunication Networks and Metering; agree overlap test.
* Signing appropriate certificates: HVSCC, EAC, NCC.
* Prepare commissioning switching programme and Method Statements;
* Provide input information for BETTA documentation;
* Have an awareness of technological advances and industry best practice;
* Liaise across multi-disciplinary engineering teams to provide end to end integrated solutions.

* The ability to plan and engineer conflicting requirements and meet challenging deadlines;
* Ability to interrelate own discipline areas with outputs from other engineering solutions and contribute to overall
operable solution mitigating risk of gaps in end to end solution;
* To conceptualise engineering solutions and provide the methodology and detailed thinking to turn them into solutions;
* Having the ability to develop, investigate and understand detailed control and protection aspects of transmission networks and all associated plant and equipment;
* To provide on-site technical solutions to unforeseen engineering problems that mitigate program slippage.
Judgement and Decisions
* Be able to provide technical support where fault faults are found and propose technical solutions;
* Collating and signing off all commissioning documentation.
