Penetration Tester - 4 Months Contract - Edinburgh - £400 per day - Games Industry

As a Penetration Tester - Punch-through Solutions, you will be responsible for evaluating our clients' IT infrastructure and networks to enable ethical "hole-punching" that allows our cutting-edge development team to deliver robust real-time avatar communication via VoIP protocols, ensuring user excitement and engagement in games, AI platforms and virtual reality applications.

At the heart of the job is using your experience of simulated attacks on networks, firewalls, operating systems and applications to the benefit of our customers. You'll focus on identifying opportunities to deliver quality content and enabling systems to do this ethically for software users. Dealing with a range of internal colleagues and external clients, it is important you are comfortable working collaboratively with developers and clearly communicating technical requirements to enable smooth development.

Responsibilities

*Plan the penetration testing/hole-punching approach
*Perform the penetration test/ethical hack on computer systems, networks, web-based and mobile applications to find a best route for suctions
*Develop solutions for routing VoIP communcations based on findings, and communicate these solutions to the development team.
*Document your methodologies
*Review your findings and work with development team collaboratively
*Analyse the outcomes and make recommendations for product improvements
*Keep up to date with latest testing and ethical hacking methods

Qualifications and Experience

*Certified Register of Ethical Security Testers (CREST)
*Cyber-security certifications (CHECK, CTM, CTL, CREST, TIGER, OSCP)
*A degree in computer security, computer science or equivalent
*Recognised security testing certifications (GIAC, CEH)
*Penetration testing experience of systems, web-based applications and networks.
*Solid knowledge and experience of using a variety of penetration testing or threat modelling tools including open source and commercial mapping
*Experience of threat reporting and assessing vulnerabilities
*Some consulting experience is advantageous with a proven ability to understand and meet client needs, build relationships and develop a positive dialogue
*Adept at explaining technical jargon to non-technical parties
*Programming skills and reverse engineering experience are desirable
*Past experience of using problem solving techniques and developing solutions to meet vulnerability threats
