M&E Project Manager / Agent - Boston, Lincolnshire.

We are looking to recruit an electrical or mechanical engineer to join the Boston Barrier Project Team, reporting to the overall Project Manager. The project is to construct a hydraulically driven rising tidal barrier and a pair of dock entrance gates. The project covers design, procurement, installation, commissioning and putting in place a facilities management contract.

Your key activities will include:

•Manage and coordinate MEICA design between consultant, suppliers and client.
•Manage HAZOP/ HAZID, BS 61508 workshops.
•Provide technical guidance and be able to recognise when external advice and support is required.
•Recruit M&E personnel to join the team as dictated by the workload.
•Procurement of MEICA Subcontracts, plant and equipment.
•Expedite offsite manufacture.
•Provide guidance to the commercial team.
•Provide guidance to the project planner.
•Manage enabling works and coordinate between different trades on site.
•Manage testing and commissioning.
•Manage the production of O&M's.
•Put FM sub contracts in place.
•Ensure safety is put first and put appropriate safe systems of work in place.

You will have an understanding of:

•Single Line Diagrams / Schematics.
•Hydraulic diagrams and fundamentals.
•PLC's, instrumentation and their application.
•Plant layouts and ergonomics.
•Machinery Directive and BS61508.
•NEC Conditions of Contract.

You will ideally have experience of:

•Hydraulics and moving structures.
•Hydraulic pipework.
•Generator plant, VSD's and electrical distribution.
•PLC's and instrumentation.
•Building Services - HVAC / Fire / Plumbing.

You should be degree or HND qualified and able to undertake independent research consulting standards, journals and books. You will be capable of writing concise and clear reports, and be familiar with, and able to use, the Microsoft suite of office programmes, AutoCAD, BIM 360 Field and Navisworks.

You will be a good communicator and work well within a team, organised and prepared for the occasional night/s away from site.
