We're Activus, a leading central Bristol technology consultancy looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst with MS SQL or Oracle experience. You?ll be joining a team of 14 supporting our large software application in post live environments across multiple, geographically diverse clients.

The role will see you working closely with the Applications Manager and the software development team, dealing with a wide range of issues of varying complexity which can take from 1 to 100 hours to resolve. You will usually be dealing with a technical person on the client side and will be working with a friendly, experienced and supportive team who constantly help each other. We use both MS SQL server and Oracle databases and works to multiple client SLA?s.

·researching and resolving all types of application support requests

·providing 1st to 3rd line software application support

·technical database support and administration

·development of product support facilities

·delivery of key systems administration tasks

·delivery of pre & post-sales consultancy services

·production of FAQS and technical notes

·development of SQL scripts for data correction

You?re a self-starter with strong technical ability, an analytical mind-set and the ability to quickly absorb and assimilate information.

Skills and experience:

·Commercial experience within application support

·Strong MS/SQL Server or Oracle database administration skills

·Supported large, bespoke applications

·Microsoft desktop and server operating systems

·Good all round knowledge of computer hardware, servers, desktops, laptops etc.

·Service delivery tools and methods

·Configuration Management tools

·Working to accredited Quality standards
