Windows operations Engineer (PowerShell/ cloud) - FINTECH - Gain Azure/ Docker

Are you a senior Systems engineer with experience ensuring high availability in business critical applications keen to gain more exposure towards the cloud and automation? Then I have the perfect role for you.

A rapidly scaling Fintech based in the Saas space are looking for an experienced windows operations engineer very confident around ensuring high availability in their business critical B2B software which is hosted in Azure.

The company themselves provide a bespoke software which ensures all their customers maintain compliance with GDPR regulations which is especially critical in the current climate. Traditionally, working with large financial and insurance houses they have diversified their product range from a traditional on premise application into an Azure hosted Saas application to allow them to break into the SME space.
Given this, they have need for an extremely motivated and proactive windows systems engineer who is keen to take sole ownership of this new application and being completely responsible for ensuring high availability whilst also introducing a continuous improvements mentality.

The role has a much wider remit covering many aspect of infrastructure including the introduction of an infrastructure as code pipeline to automate deployments, automating all day to day task to maximise efficiency, introducing proactive monitoring and logging solutions and also working with developers in regards to release management moving into a Senior Site reliability Engineer position.
The remit of the role is very wide and there is a lot of opportunity to grow and work with many new technologies such as: Azure, Teamcity and PowerShell.

What they do need from you?

*Experience maintaining high availability in a business critical application which is cloud hosted: VMware, AWS, Azure, Google compute.
*Confident with monitoring and logging solutions
*Experience with disaster recovery protocols.
*Strong knowledge around wider windows stack.
*Confident with PowerShell for automation purposes.

Though Automation and cloud experience is not essential we do expect a strong understanding around them and a keen and proven interest in working with Azure and automation tools.

As you can see there is a lot to gain from this role and given the growth of the company where you wish to take your career is up to you. After, building a scalable and highly available application infrastructure the role will move to working with the wider engineering teams improving the continuous integration and delivery pipelines. There is also a great opportunity here to improve technically gaining experience with azure, Docker and automation.
