Position: 2nd Line Support Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £25,000- £28,000

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer role to join a leading managed service provider that's based in Birmingham. This positon will suit a 2nd Line Support Engineer that wants to develop their skill sets and gain more exposure to a range of disciplines within a fast growing company.

It is advantageous if the 2nd Line Support Engineer has had exposure to Networking, TCP/IP, MCP, MCSE, Microsoft, NAT, Firewalls, Network Switches, SAN and NAS.

  • Primary role is to support customers with the use and implementation of products. This may involve out of hours as required.
  • Hardware specification and stock management
  • Testing of internal software releases
  • Building, installing and configuring hardware and software solutions
  • Providing assistance to account managers in the development of appropriate solutions for clients
  • Performing preventative maintenance activities
  • Keeping client records and relevant support documentation up to date

  • Several years' experience within Support environment
  • Windows 7-10
  • Networking solutions, TCP/IP, LAN and WAN technologies
  • Microsoft MCSE 2003 or above/working toward full MCSE status
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer handling skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organise/prioritise work in an effective manner and work to a deadline
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
