The Teaching Assistant role would see you working under the guidance of head of English, to support pupils in and out of the classroom, many of the students that you will work with will be at that critical C/D grade borderline but some may be overachieving and working with material above their year group. Teaching Assistants should have good communication skills as you will have to liaise between both students and class teachers.
London schools have a proven track record of working with graduates, giving them the required skills and experience to become future 'Outstanding' teachers! Most have teacher training programmes and use this as a 'foundation year' to progress onto teacher training the following year.
The school offers excellent experience to graduates who wish to train as a teacher is September 2018. Its atmosphere is incredibly studious and welcoming which combines perfectly with the schools fantastic academic performance at both GCSE and A-levels.
This experience also looks fantastic on any future applications for a PGCE, Schools Direct or MA and also pays £300 - £400 per week.
