Technical Financial Accountant
Hudson are currently supporting a key client with an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract for a Technical Financial Accountant. The opportunity has arisen within the Accounting Policy and Advisory team, which is part of the Plc Finance function who look after our external reporting such as our Annual Report and Accounts. The Accounting Policy & Advisory team is a small strategic team that provides accounting advice and guidance in respect of projects and initiatives. You will be required to explain the impact of projects and initiatives on operating profit and balance sheet. The team is also responsible for monitoring, assessing and managing the implementation of the IFRS requirements on behalf of the Group and providing training. Key Responsibilities: To participate in strategic projects to ensure that all relevant IFRS accounting issues are considered, their impact fully understood and business opportunities are maximised To be involved in ad-hoc business projects as required and provide IFRS accounting advice and guidance To act as a point of contact for areas across the Group for IFRS technical accounting queries To participate in the development of the Group’s IFRS external reporting to the market, including the reporting of performance metrics To research into current and emerging IFRS technical accounting issues and assess their impact on the Group’s IFRS results To contribute to the implementation of new standards across the Group To ensure that internal controls operate effectively and adequate evidence is provided Candidate Background/Experience: Qualified accountant Strong IFRS accounting knowledge Strong presentation and communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex issues simply and effectively Analytical skills Attention to detail and good organisation This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract covering a period of maternity leave, however it is highly likely that this role will be made permanent should the successful candidate be a good long term fit for the role and business.
