Senior Helpdesk Support Technician
Location: Milton Keynes Outskirts
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 plus benefits

We are a well established, world leading manufacturer based near Milton Keynes with an enviable product range which has been ensuring our impressive year on year growth. We are now looking for a Senior Support/Helpdesk Technician to join our I.T Services team. You will provide hardware and software support to our UK & worldwide customers, problem solve down to SQL and Log file level and act as the primary technical interface between Technical Support and other departments within the business.We invite applications from Senior Support Technicians with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of supporting bespoke hardware and software solutions
  • Networking and Windows Server features
  • Multi-tier application deployment including SQL Server, IIS
  • Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Citrix etc.
  • Access and SQL Server databases including writing queries and basic database manipulation

Senior Helpdesk Support Technician

  • To provide support to our customers and worldwide distributors using the appropriate communication methods (including telephone, e-mail, remote etc), down to SQL and Log file level.
  • To be one of two senior technical leads within the Technical Support department and to provide guidance and support to other Technicians when dealing with complex or problematic issues.
  • To be one of two primary technical interfaces between Technical Support and other departments within the business.
  • To mutually manage escalations and investigate in collaboration with R&D
  • In conjunction with the other senior support technician manage and monitor the distribution of workload between the Support Technicians and ensuring the closure of cases in a timely and effective manner.
  • Working with the Technical Support Team Leader to ensure the necessary development, training and performance of the Support Technicians.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and achievement of performance KPIs for the Technical Support department.
  • Working proactively to build trust in our products and to develop robust external relationships.
  • Document and review current and future processes.
  • KPI Reporting
  • In periods of absence of the Technical Support Team Leader to assist in the management of the department
  • Any other duties required to assist in supporting the achievement of the Company objectives.
