Senior Project Engineer ? Linux Windows ITIL ? York, Leeds (North Yorkshire)
Senior Project Engineer with experience across both Linux & Windows based platforms in an ITIL environment sought by global player at their offices in York, easily commutable from Leeds (North Yorkshire).
Please note that considerable international travel to both client site and organisation offices will be required as part of this role.
Key skills & experience:
-In depth real depth of knowledge and experience working with Linux (REHL & CentOS), with the ability to interrogate and configure systems using CLI
-Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems
-Broad level of knowledge across Operating Systems, networking, web technologies, databases, and enterprise systems management systems
-Experience of HP Blade Centre c7000 series & ProLiant server hardware
-Confident dealing with customers, both face-to-face and by phone/e-mail
-Awareness of current ITIL standards would also be a real advantage
This is a challenging role which will push your knowledge and experience to the limits. You?ll be able to build and maintain complex server infrastructures in both ?greenfield? and ?brownfield? environments; following design documentation and self-solving complex technical problems, often with little or no direction and limited support.
Your day to day duties will involve:
-Working on-site with customers, resolving complex server-based issues.
-Producing high-quality documentation, following all relevant standards
-Communicating with a wide variety of external customers and internal teams
-Going above and beyond to solve customers? software and hardware problems, often in pressurised, time sensitive situations.
