This role is ideal for a Psychology graduate who may have volunteered or worked with children before. We are looking for someone with a 2:1 or above degree who is passionate about supporting children with SEN. You will be provided with excellent training from day one including safeguarding and possibly Autism Awareness/Team Teach.
You will play a key role in the schools inclusion strategy and work closely with the SENCo, teachers, parents and the child to ensure progress is being made. You will specifically be supporting a boy in Year 5 who is on the Autistic Spectrum. He is very high functioning and needs someone who can offer 'firm but fair' support.
This large, multicultural Primary school in Manchester has a higher than average proportion of SEN children and is well known in the community for supporting children with additional needs. The school has an excellent resource base for SEN including a sensory room. The school is easily accessible from a wide range of public transport links, close to the city centre.
