Graduate Academic Mentor- Person specification

This school are looking to appoint a Graduate Academic Mentor to work for the full academic year from September. You must be a core subject graduate (English/Maths/Science/Humanities) who has a strong academic background, with relevant A-levels. Ideally this school are looking to see graduates who are passionate about education and aspire to be outstanding. You must be able to inspire struggling students to achieve their full potential. If you do have any previous experience of working with children/pupils this would be advantageous as you will be able to transfer these skills into this role.

Graduate Academic Mentor - About the role

In this exciting role you will be working closely with the head of department of your specialist subject. You will work with targeted students who need that extra push to achieve their full potential. You will be an integral part of the schools strategy to support students academically with your expert subject knowledge.

You will be required to deliver intervention sessions to individuals or to small groups of students in order to give them that extra push outside of the classroom. The teachers and Senior Leadership team will assist you along the way and ensure your own professional development is on track.

The exciting role is based in an 11-18 Secondary School in Rotherham. Recently the school has received an 'Outstanding' Ofsted grading. There will be a number of other graduates working as teaching assistants who will be able to support you in your first few weeks of the role!
