The ideal candidate for this History teaching assistant position will be an enthusiastic Russell Group graduate with a 2:1 or higher in their degree and an excellent academic background. You must possess a passion for History and a strong curriculum knowledge in order to motivate students to learn and achieve the grades they are capable of. Previous experience of working with young learners is desirable but not essential.
In this History Teaching Assistant position you will be supporting students predominantly within the History department but an overall ability within maths, science and English is essential as in order to go on to teacher training in the future you must possess at least a C in these subjects. Your role in this position will involve supporting both higher and lower ability students, finding innovative ways to enthuse the students learning and allow them to achieve their full potential.
This secondary school in Sheffield is largely over-subscribed due to its excellent reputation in the surrounding community. The school is immensely proud of the efforts of all the staff to take this school from a 'good' to 'outstanding' in a recent Ofsted report and they are now looking to appoint ambitious graduates to continue this progress.
