We are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineering Leader based at our Market Drayton site within our Operations department. This role will need the successful applicant to lead all engineering activities on shift and help deliver World Class service in regards to filling machine availability and efficiency. Your challenge In this role the key responsibilities will include: * To ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard and optimised to deliver efficiency targets. * To develop and coach the shift engineering team. * To drive a culture mind set of continuous improvement within the engineering department. * To work closely with process and reliability engineering leaders to drive specifically Factory efficiency targets. * To work closely with Continuous Improvement teams and Operational teams to deliver engineering service and improvements. * To ensure PM compliance is met and quick reaction to breakdown maintenance. * Ensure shift engineering team use the correct tools to effectively and efficiently resolve breakdown faults. * Responsibility for a team of 6 shift technicians and their training and development. * Provide disciplinary/grievance/absence management support. * Good communications skills in relation to day to day requirements, hand over information and business updates. * Recognition of high performance. * Ensure that all members of team have a clear personal development plan in place and enable plans to mature. * Develop a team working culture across day and shift teams with no boundaries and multi skilling. * Actively lead in regard to PM compliance and breakdown actions. * Develop partnership with operations team to enable delivery of shared manufacturing objectives * Cascade business briefs. * Ensure equipment is maintained to operate safely. * To embrace and lead all day to day safety processes and reporting. * Ensure team behaviour supports Health and Safety of themselves and others impacted by their actions. * To optimise spend through delivery of availability and efficient filling lines. * Energy focused to optimise deliver annual targets and develop related initiatives. * Strong focus on filling waste and opportunities to improve. * Optimal cost approach to maintenance including predictive, proactive and replacement works. * Ownership for maintenance budget within own scope of control. * Develop improved PM schedules that give a more cost effective maintenance service. Key skills and experience: * Strong engineering qualifications and background - BTEC Level 3 (ONC) is essential. * HNC/HND level is desirable. * Relevant knowledge and experience in a similar FMCG role. * IOSH qualification is desirable. * Possess good knowledge in the areas of filling and process technology. * Demonstrable knowledge of complex fast moving clean environments (24/7- short life products). * Capability to develop a high performance and service oriented culture. * Strong technical bias and with experience in standardising processes and practices. * Have excellent analytical, planning and organising skills. * Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills. * Excellent knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and condition monitoring. * Good communication skills. * Proven decision making skills. * Team building skills and strong ability to work cross functionally.
