We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teacher within the Wells Unit (a medium secure psychiatric unit based in Ealing).

The Wells Unit is a purposebuilt, 10bed NHS residential secure unit for adolescents (1218year olds) with severe mental health problems and forms part of a specialised national network that provides care across England.

It provides young people with the opportunity to access education and also focuses on their spiritual, cultural, mental and physical development within a secure, calm environment.
Education provision is currently offered for 48 weeks of the year.
We are seeking a qualified and competent individual to work with a variety of students, specifically focusing on our cohort of SEND students.

The purpose of the role is to oversee day to day delivery and support to our SEN students, focusing mainly on the teaching, learning and assessment of English and Maths. This role will involve working with a wide range of students of different levels and abilities.

The post will also involve delivering personal social development qualifications and working as a team to support the students within their project work

It is desirable that the applicants have prior experience working with SEND students or hold relevant qualifications in this field.

The ideal candidate will have:

A recognised teaching qualification
Teaching experience with students aged 13 and over
Vocational experience within the SEN industry
Knowledge of Special Education Needs English & Maths curriculum at GCSE

A DBS check will be required for this role
