An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Media Manager to join our digital team in Central Reading, Berkshire for a maternity cover to start in December. The duration of this contract will be up to 13 months. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing digital team that will challenge the traditional view of utility and lead Thames Water to deliver an excellent digital experience for customers and support our brand purpose. This company provides the essential service at the heart of daily life, health and enjoyment to 15 million customers across London and the Thames Valley and are going through a period of exciting change. On a typical day, it supplies 2.6 billion litres of top quality drinking water and its 350-sewage treatment works to treat more than 4.2bn litres of waste-water. Our client is offer a salary of £42,000 depending on experience and have a range of company benefits including an excellent contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, and season ticket loans and paid volunteering days. The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the social media and community strategies, as part of the Digital Customer Experience team. What will this role involve? Key responsibilities for the Social Media Manager: - Responsible for developing expertise and driving social media transformation across areas such as marketing, customer service, and external affairs, including paid, earned, and owned campaigns. - Support in creating contents yourself and at other times you will be supporting your colleagues to do so. - Work closely with our Creative, Brand and Marketing, social care team (also based in Reading) ensuring we are delivering a best in class social customer care experience. - Confident to develop own global social media strategy. - Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities while working alongside the marketing team. - Monitor and analyse optimisation progress, and present findings and measure response activity for posts. - Being a leading expert on social media in the business. - Manage the social media strategy, and community engagement to be able to support growth plans. - Project managing the social component of marketing campaigns that deliver on brand and business objectives. - Managing relationships with internal teams to ensure a digital and social first approach to content production and promotion. - Managing relationships with third party platform and solution providers, using insights available to monitor performance and make data driven improvements. - Maintaining and managing a social content calendar with stories from around the business that are tailored according to the social platform, are timely, and on brand. - Drive a digital-first approach across traditional offline teams is a must: the candidate needs to be creative, highly engaged in social networking, with excellent stakeholder management skills. What skills are we looking for? The Social Media Manager role is ideal for hard-working individual who would like to work for a fast-growing business, and develop the company Social Media channels. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in social media and community engagement and have a comprehensive understanding of social media channels and digital customer experience. Previous experience in developing social strategies, implementation, delivering and optimising against our social KPIs in line with the social media strategy are an essential requirement of the role. You will be known as being a proactive leader and will be the voice of social media across the business, as well as a subject matter expert on all things social media including technological developments, platform upgrades, and competitor presence. Ideally you will have previous experience in content production, a strong brand awareness, and be on top of new technologies and leading social campaigns across Owned, Earned, and Paid with an understanding of paid social media campaigns. In your previous role you would have experience managing a small team, managing external supplies, partners, and agencies and will have worked with state of the art social media platforms.
