Engineering Coordinator

Location: Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum

B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins, is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including an Engineering Coordinator.

The sole supplier of galleys and trolley compartments for the Airbus A350, our business is ramping up as the new aircraft enters production and with the impact of this programme alone means that production rates have increased from typically one ship-set per month to 13 per month. This will be sustained for at least the next ten years, with further programmes expecting to be added to the portfolio. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Engineering Design Team and the execution of documentation and design for a major program.

Key responsibilities of the Engineering Coordinator include:

  • Liaising with different departments including engineering, operations, quality, supply chain to obtain program information for the engineers as required
  • Prepare technical documentation in support of the engineering design process
  • Control and coordinate documentation to ensure quality and on time program deliverables
  • Regular running of reports and KPI's for the department - obtaining information required from an integrated program team
  • Running daily meetings for workflow distributions to the engineers, and daily distribution of workflow lists
  • Ensuring parts are promptly released in the Team Center system
  • Supporting engineering meetings as required - room set up, taking notes etc.
  • Representing engineering at regular program meetings
  • Drawing administration, issuing numbers, chasing signatures and scanning
  • Creating and maintaining product documentation, such as running daily monitoring reports, change control documentation, engineering drawing sign off
  • Expediting and tracking documents through the engineering release process
  • Raising and managing purchase order requisitions
  • Managing the customer training booking system, ensuring that relevant training has been booked, confirmed and all relevant PR's are completed, then submitted to the customer
  • Administration for the engineering team as required - such as preparing presentations, photocopying, excel spreadsheets etc.
  • Any other reasonable duties

What you need in becoming the successful Engineering Coordinator:

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 5 GCSE's, and experience of the following:

  • Administrative support experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to analyze data for accuracy and interpret results
  • Ability to analyze data for accuracy and interpret results
  • IT Literate - with effective use of Windows and Microsoft Office functions (Word, Excel etc)
  • Good Team Working skills and work ethic
  • Effective Communicator at all levels both Verbally and Written
  • At times be able to work on their own initiative
