If you have specific experience supporting S&L learners or if you have gained a S&L degree then this could be an ideal role.
This is a 100% S&L 1-2-1 Learning Support Assistant role with a bright and happy Year 2 girl in a mainstream primary school. The school needs a confident and able person for the role - you may not be completely ready for the responsibilities from day 1. The school will be happy to offer you a good level of support and training but you will be expected to make a contribution from the off.
The school is a large 3 form entry outstanding graded facility in Central Lewisham, South London. The school serves a diverse catchment and parents strive to get a place for their children - the school is oversubscribed by four applications to every place.
The school SENCo is a caring leader and she is well known around the borough for being a bulldog when it comes to securing the care and finding required for her kids.
This happy and polite year 2 girl has been with the school since Reception class. The current learning support assistant has been with the school for the same period and joined a S&L graduate. The reason for the vacancy is that this learning support assistant has gained a place on a dream S&L masters course - in part due to the experience and the training gained in this great school.
The school is looking for a suitable replacement and would like to start that Learning support assistant now to give you a good hand over. The responsibilities of the role will include supporting this bright learner in class and liaising with all stakeholders - parents, borough S&L coordinators, the SENCo and the class teacher.
Do you feel that this role could be a great chance for you to make a positive impact and to help progress your own career aspirations?
