Key Account Manager (Protection Insurance)

c£65,000 DOE

Plus company bonus and employee benefits.

Mid Kent Based, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with our client to assume full ownership and responsibility for key clients ensuring that the accounts deliver excellent client & customer service within the commercial and contractual arrangements.

The right candidate will be responsible for the organic growth of accounts though exploring all product and commercial opportunities and improving current product(s) performance and processes. You will be accountable to internal and external stakeholders for the performance and strategic direction of key client accounts.

This is a great opportunity to be a senior member of the Protection Relationship Management, steering the direction of the team and providing guidance and support to more junior members of the team.

What would you be responsible for in this role?

- To ensure excellent client service is delivered through effective relationship management.
- To fully understand the clients' Protection needs and requirements and to ensure that current needs are being met and the organisation will be at the forefront of any future requirements.
- To drive innovation and change through client accounts with the aim of enhancing service and/or profitability.

Performance Focus

- Overall account management responsibility for the ongoing performance of key client accounts
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the client that are open and honest and reflect the organisation's business values
- To ensure that client accounts are run profitability and within agreed performance and contractual framework
- Ensure products are fit for purpose and support the Product Governance process
- Work closely with the Protection Operational Management team to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service within agreed SLAs
- Lead any pricing reviews or new product pricing for the client.
- To ensure that the client is kept up to date with regulatory issues and that all documentation is fully compliant.
- To understand and keep up to date with the clients core business and organisational structure and to communicate topical issues to the relevant internal personnel.
- To be responsible for the production, monitoring and performance of business plans for each key client.
- To identify and introduce new initiatives and approaches to enhance customer service.
- Be conduit between the client and service areas to ensure that direct client contact with the service areas is minimal.
- Lead client focused tender responses.
- Provide expertise and advice to educate and support other business areas supporting the Protection strategy
- To manage and oversee client internally with operational areas and externally with the client. To manage actions arising from the audits through to resolution.
- Manage relationships with internal departments (such as Compliance, Risk and HR) in relation to specific client requirements and governance framework
- Support the cross selling of protection products to a wider audience within the client organisation or potential new clients
- Undertake other duties over and above those listed in the job description, appropriate to the individual's skills and experience.

Experience and knowledge

- Extensive Account Management experience preferably at a senior level
- Business experience in the Financial Institution sector

Nice to have


- Degree level or equivalent insurance qualification an advantage

Experience and knowledge

- Knowledge/Experience in the Protection market including Life, PPI, Personal Accident and STIP products
- Strong technical knowledge for both underwritten and administration business including product design, pricing structures, distribution methods, commercial arrangements

Our client is within the financial services industry and will carry out criminal record and financial checks including CCJs and bankruptcy. The employment is subject to successful completion of these checks.
