We operate five sites across the UK, supplying Waitrose with over 400 products, including fresh pork, bacon, sausage, cooked meats, lamb and added value products. We currently have an opportunity for a Project Accountant within the Dalehead Finance Team. Reporting to the Finance Director you will be an exceptional individual with experience of engaging and influencing all levels of a business and seeking a role with real accountability and responsibility.

Ideal candidates will be professionally qualified and have experience in developing financial strategy and Partnering Operations teams within an FMCG manufacturing environment. You will be able to demonstrate sound, commercial, operational and manufacturing understanding combined with the strength of character to challenge the status quo.

Self-motivated, confident and persuasive, with a naturally inquisitive mind, you will be expected to take the financial lead on a variety of projects across the business. You will be accountable for ensuring a consistent and accurate reporting on the progress of the business? initiatives, including the robust evaluation of financial benefits and risks

The Project Accountant will be responsible for driving real and lasting change across Dalehead, recommending actions and strategies that will successfully deliver both financial and non-financial projects.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a related field plus relevant experience within the food industry. You will be a real foodie, passionate about innovation, and have a proven track record with launching new products including both concept and process development as well as people management, effective planning and organisational skills. You must also be an effective communicator, able to confidently liaise with key people within Waitrose and our business, engage and influence others, be an experienced and resilient problem solver and be able to demonstrate strong IT skills.
