Broadcast Engineer, Linear TV Broadcast, Streaming, VoD, Transcoders, Encoders, Decoders, Satellite Uplinks

Our client is a global Broadcast and Media brand name based in a cool part of London and are looking for an experienced Broadcast Engineer to support their Linear / Traditional TV Broadcast environment along with their CDN / Content Delivery Network environment moving into their team soon!
This is an exciting time for this client as you would be participating in a number of global initiatives over the next few years including some cloud based business transformation so the desire to learn new skills is essential.
You will be part of a team of four 2nd line Support / Broadcast Engineers and would be involved in mostly project based work but also dealing with support issues escalated from the 1st line team.
Taking ownership of these complex issues you would also be working cross-department to solve them as well as project planning would require working with external 3rd party suppliers of Telecom networks and Broadcast services like Arqiva, Encompass, Globecast, Colt, Level 3 and so forth.
Issues could involve Encoders, Decoders, Multiplexes, Fibre etc. and would require an immediate and thoughtful approach to fault-finding and resolution.
Broadcast Engineering experience in Transmission, Satellite Uplinks experience is required and an appreciation of CDN / Streaming very useful.
Additionally, you will also be helping to maintain and improve standards and services by monitoring and managing their key distribution vendors.
Project work would involve designing, planning and the install or modifying of current and new solutions to the business.

- Authorised to work in the UK. No sponsorship is available
- First class verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Good experience of Traditional / Linear TV Broadcast
- Some CDN / Content Delivery Network / Streaming / VoD would be useful
