IT Development & Release Manager
Are you an experienced development manager looking for an exciting new challenge? Would you like to join a high profile organisation as they embark on an enterprise wide transformation programme? Do you have experience managing third party system integrators and in house development staff? Can you demonstrate a track record of defining test criteria & environment planning?
This is a newly created position which will play a pivotal role in the delivery of a range of new IT applications across the business? As the successful applicant you will be the gatekeeper ensuring all new systems have undergone rigorous review & testing before entering the live environment. You will lead a team of 6 direct reports with 10 further indirect reports providing day to day management and mentorship. Key responsibilities will include the creation and implementation of Applications Development and Release strategies. The management of patches, upgrades and the release of new functionality into production environments, ensuring all changes are planned and communicated effectively. Providing release documentation that is appropriate for the wider user community, as well as specialist technical documentation that can be used by internal support teams. You will work closely with the Business Change, Testing and Training Teams to ensure that all relevant environments exist for system test, UAT, training and cutover, containing appropriate functionality, data and user access in line with project plans.
To be considered you will be able to demonstrate previous experience of implementing release management processes, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience of managing 3rd party suppliers. You will have previous people management skills and be comfortable working in fast paced environment. Knowledge of the Microsoft toolset, including Dynamics 365 (AX/CRM), SharePoint, SQL and Azure cloud services would all be beneficial. This is a high profile role internally where you will exposed to wide variety of stakeholders so excellent communication skills with technical, non-technical internal and external stakeholders are essential.
