Financial Controller, City of London, £60,000

This privately owned commercial insurance broker is one of the top 25 independent insurance brokers in the UK. They have ambitious growth plans, and are now seeking a proven, qualified accountant to manage the Group's finances, its regulatory obligations and the flow of information to both management and stakeholders. The position reports to and works closely with the Finance Director.

Role:

The Financial Controller will be responsible to the Finance Director for all matters relating to management, regulatory and statutory accounting.

Management of financial ledgers

Responsible for the management of the Purchase Ledger Controller

To assist the Finance Director with preparation and reporting of annual budgets

Duties:

The Financial Controller will assist with the preparation of group annual budgets, forecasts and cash flows. Ensure Budgets delivered to timetable with operational ownership.

Prepare monthly packs incorporating consolidated management accounts, variance reporting and bank covenant forecasts. Create Monthly reporting routine established free of FD dependence

Preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns

You will have experience as a Financial Controller in the preparation of group annual budgets, forecasts and cash flows. Enhance/develop the forecast model.

Deliver audited financial statements for the Group and its subsidiaries.

Manage cashflow and payment runs

Preparation of audit work papers and liaising with external advisors on the annual audit

As the Financial Controller, you will manage client money regulation compliance and quarterly FCA returns. Manage clockwork RMAR reporting and audit free of FD dependence.

Develop and maintain controls over payments and balances due. Ensure that accounting controls fully established and documented

Oversee payroll and benefits processing, and HMRC compliance

Implement accounting systems and develop departmental reporting initially focusing on purchases, expenses and payments processing

Oversee and integrate new acquisition accounting and create reports and controls

Qualified and Chartered Accountant
