THE COMPANY

A leading architectural hardware company is looking to appoint a Product Manager to work as part of their team to assist in managing product lines (sales performance, market share, potential growth etc), evaluate markets and understand customers` and end users needs. The successful candidate will be a Product Manager from a company selling technical construction products or an automotive company.

DUTIES

-Assist in defining and sizing market segments, understand customer needs, industry requirements, product value in market and competitive positioning, while also helping identify trends and future needs and qualify them as potential business opportunities
-Work with the Business Line to maintain product line roadmap and positioning that meet customer needs while optimizing revenue, profitability while assuring continuous market share gain and relevance
-Create & execute product strategy across EMEA.
-Participate in gross margin / profitability reviews and pricing activity
-Manage new product development projects including strategy, developing market requirements and product position, packaging the features into product specifications, commercialization plan. Also manage planning and launch of new products to market
-Assess product technology/supply chain costs to drive productivity pipeline (VAVE) and portfolio optimization (reduce complexity)
-Management of sku/price into the system, catalog and price book updates, detailed product information regarding competitive products and other product support information as required
-Participate and lead joint activities with Sales & Marketing including brand strategy, pricing, market analysis, customer management, product presentation and training
-Maintaining awareness of all company policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance

SKILLS REQUIRED

-Knowledge and understanding of product management, marketing and business strategies and processes in order to meet organisational objectives, essential
-Understanding and experience of creating and managing pricing strategies and activities, essential
-Ideally degree-qualified or equivalent
-Have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, essential
-Excellent attention to detail, essential
-Ability to work as a team both within and across departments and with European colleagues, essential
-Ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships with colleagues and internal and external customers, essential
-Good communicator (spoken / written) accurate with high standards of literature composition, essential
-Good influencing skills, essential
-Ability to source market & product data and information from multiple areas and use the information in order to execute product and commercial development plans
-Have excellent relationship management skills, internal and externally (eg customers, suppliers)
-Organize and prioritize work to achieve deadlines
-Working knowledge of ironmongery / locking products, very advantageous
-IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (essential): Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other programs eg. Adobe Acrobat
