Job Description:

The Engineering Systems Administrator researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. You will be involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as being responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.

Primary accountabilities are associated with Application Administration of Teamcenter Enterprise. Performs deployments plus support for all Teamcenter solutions product development and custom projects. Able to effectively deal with challenges from the base technical perspective of high complexity. Engage with all Teamcenter planning activities, as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple system environments such as (Development, Test, and Production)
  • Manage addition and deletion of new users, groups, roles, securities
  • Manage schema extensions to allow global collaboration
  • Perform installation of vanilla product, upgrade patches, software patch-set installs and test
  • Deploy standard desktop configurations on Windows platforms
  • Administer Teamcenter Database
  • Provide technical expertise in analyzing and resolving requests and problems as they pertain to Teamcenter and CAD integrations through GTAC (Siemens solution center)
  • Able to support improvements in overall systems reliability, configuration, license and configuring Teamcenter Databases for Global multi-site implementation
  • Maintain user help guides
  • Responsible for Teamcenter help desk requests
  • Build and maintain relationships with software vendors
  • Technical lead for system integrations with Teamcenter

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Strong 2-5 years Teamcenter Administration or similar experience unified with CAD integrated environment
  • Knowledge of system and process design techniques, tools, and principals involved in his/her area of specialization
  • Analyze needs and business requirements to create a solution design
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Consider relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution
  • Familiarity with data migration processes
  • Hardware evaluations, benchmarks and recommendations
  • Server Solutions License Management
  • To be the application expert for his/her area of specialization
  • Confer with systems and technical analysts and engineers and others to design process requirements and to establish technical requirements in the applications to meet these requirements
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Responsible for implementing System and Process Strategies in his/her area of specialization
  • Responsible for software upgrades. Which includes: Testing, Verification of software compatibility and implementation
  • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met
  • Ability to author Work Instructions

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in either Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • A minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience with engineering, manufacturing applications and PDM systems preferred
  • Occasional international travel may be required
  • Liaising with staff at all levels of organization
