Purpose of Role
Design and develop the software solutions and tools for the emulation of automated materials handling systems, using modern 3D platforms to aid testing of warehouse management and controls software.

Principal Accountabilities
? Build emulation models using standard software components for use in testing Dematic Warehouse Management Systems and Controls software
? Development of standard and bespoke emulated MHE components within the Dematic Facility Emulation Platform based on Unity 3D Game Engine
? Maintain the component library and software core code on a per project basis
? Rigorous testing of software and models before delivery to customers
? Support the delivered models through a close relationship with high level software development teams and project management teams
? Development of testing and commissioning software tools and applications to improve emulation development and on site testing
? Development of specifications detailing emulation model tools and functionality
? Develop best working practices to deliver models and components through remote software engineering teams
? Train further local and remote engineering teams to deliver emulation using the developed component library and tools
? To maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers, through provision of a high quality service
? Development of testing and commissioning software tools and emulation to improve quality and on site testing
? Design software using best practice and innovative, modern software techniques
? Deliver projects/tasks on time and within budget
? Lead a value engineering approach to ensure cost efficient solutions are designed that achieve company goals for profit, service and support.

Knowledge & Experience Required
? Degree / HND or equivalent qualification is expected
? Enthusiasm for software development and innovation

Technical Competencies

? MS office suite applications.
? Object Orientated Programming Skills
? .NET/C# and WPF

Additional Desired Skills
? Familiarity with Unity3D Game Engine
? Knowledge of VR technologies
? Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
? Knowledge of Warehouse Automated Material Flow
? Familiarity with Software Version Control (Git, SVN)
? Familiarity with Task/Issue Tracking (Jira/Kanban)
? Virtualisation (VMWare etc.)
