Primary Teaching Assistant

The ideal candidate for this teaching assistant position will have graduated from University with a 2:1 or higher in their degree, preferably in English or Humanities. You must be highly personable and exuberate high levels of confidence when support pupils and liaising with staff and parents alike. Any previous experience working with children is essential and any school based experience is preferable, although full induction and training will be given.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant your main role will be to provide literacy booster sessions for year 6 pupils, preparing them for their SATs and ensuring they are ready for transition to secondary school in September. The role will involve working with both the lower achieving children and those higher achieving ones who need to be pushed to achieve their full potential.

This Sheffield Primary school has recently undergone an Ofsted report and has shown excellent improvement in behaviour and academic success in recent years and is looking for high calibre graduates to continue this improvement in year 6 especially. You will be provided with excellent training which will set you up perfectly for teacher training in September 2018.
