SEN Teacher (Primary PPA)Primary SEN PPA TeacherPMLD/SLD EYFS - KS2 ClassesMerton LAImmediate StartPart time (4 days a week)19 month contractPay 140 - 160 per dayI am seeking to appoint a specialist SEN teacher for a PPA role in a PMLD/SLD school. This is a highly successful SEN school based in the London borough of Merton. The school provides an outstanding level of care and education for young people aged 11 to 19 who have a range of needs including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD) and complex autistic spectrum disorders (ASD).The school is well served by public transport with excellent rail, tube and bus services making commuting accessible from almost anywhere in zones 1-4. It provides an environment where young people are offered safe, secure and predictable surroundings in which they can build the skills to interact with the outside world.I require a motivated, skilled and resilient class teacher with experience of working in an SLD or PMLD environment or a strong interest in teaching children with complex needs and a track record as an outstanding teacher in a mainstream environment (preferably EYFS or KS1). The role may suit a primary qualified teacher, or someone who has gained significant experience of working in a lower school environment but secondary teachers with relevant experience should also apply. The chosen candidate will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the ability to teach effectively across a range of subject areas. You may have experience of supporting young people with severe learning difficulties or PMLD but this will not be essential. You will have a flexible approach and will be able to meet the changing needs of our young people. This part time role will run Monday to Thursday for the remainder of the academic year. In most instances all planning will be provided but on occasions you may need to be flexible and pull the odd lesson together at short notice. You wil be teaching throughout the school but will have a regular timetable. Experience of working in a SEN environment is desirable, along with knowledge of working with SLD and PMLD needs. You will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated education and support staff. Full training and development will be provided along with a bespoke induction programme
