Senior Finance Manager £55,000 - £65,000 + excellent bonus and benefits Edinburgh Change Recruitment Group are partnering with an industry leading business based in Edinburgh, who operate within the facilities and construction sector. This is a great career opportunity for an ambitious Finance Manager / Controller to join as a Senior Finance Manager. The role will have a strong emphasis on all areas of technical financial accounting, management accounting and financial modelling. The role will involve operating at board level, whilst working on high profile projects across the UK. The role will provide development opportunities to work on complex projects and will be client facing with its main focus on the protection of and, where relevant, the enhancement of shareholder value. These will be achieved through the establishment of adequate financial controls, robust reporting and forecasting in the development of a close working relationship with Directors and stakeholders. Its a role that would suit those from a strong technical background, who are either working in industry or looking to move out of practice (operating at Senior Manager level). Given the level of commercial exposure and experience needed within the role, the ideal candidate will be those operating within industry. Those working within the construction, facilities or property sector would be of particular interest to my client. As would those who hold considerable experience of SPV accounting. Reporting to the Finance Director, key duties and responsibilities will include: - Preparation of management accounts together with variance analysis against budget and underlying financial model for use by funders and shareholders - Preparation of annual budgets for the individual companies and group - Periodic updates of project financial models and the running of sensitivities on these models on an ad-hoc basis - Preparation of annual statutory accounts with consolidated accounts for the group where required - Coordinating the annual audit with the external auditors - Liaising with tax advisors on corporation tax compliance and VAT - Preparing corporation tax computations for review by external advisors - Preparation of technical accounting papers on key accounting issues and judgments’ - Attending shareholders meeting, acting as Project or Group Accountant where required - Ensuring the projects tax affairs are managed efficiently with reference to the tax asset/liability of the wider group - Dealing with the day-to-day requirements of the funders and ensuring that all requirements laid out in the facility agreement are met - Ongoing forecasting to ensure that the financial impact of any development at project level can be rapidly assessed - Dealing with all parties involved in the project, establishing a close working relationship helping to ensure the smooth operation of the projects day to day activities This is a fantastic opportunity with a unique organisation that will allow a highly skilled finance professional to apply their technical and commercial accounting knowledge in an environment where they can grow and develop. In addition to the financial and technical side of the role, there will be a need and expectation to hold excellent communication skills, whilst being assured and confident. Given the Board exposure within the role and the need to lead and direct your team, effective communication and leadership will be key, in order to enjoy ongoing success within the role.
