A motivated and ambitious primary school is looking for a dedicated and patient EAL Teaching Assistant to support pupils that English is not there first language.
Your new job
As a EAL Teaching Assistant your job will be to support pupils in primary schools who may not be able to speak English or are working towards getting there English to the level of their key stage. The successful candidate will be working closely with this EAL pupils on a long term basis in order to maintain their development and act as their first point of support. You will follow the EHCP to support their development.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you must have recent and relevant experience as an SEN teaching assistant, working with children with EAL, either in a voluntary or paid capacity. You must also have a passion for working with Early Years aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 2 or higher qualification or alternatively extensive SEN experience supporting children in a phase who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or exercise other complex and challenging behaviours. As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
