    The role……

    My client is looking for a highly proficient Garment Technologist to join their team and be responsible for the fit, make and execution of garments from the initial development process through to production. Developing proper fits across all fashion categories and exceeding the customers expectations in the way a garments fits and performs in her life is what we are all about. You will be part of the design process where garment fits are just as critical as the right creative design.

    Working with the Designers and Product Coordinator you will be involved in, and responsible for all stages of the development and production of innovative and high-quality products across all categories. You will be expected to complete all tasks required throughout the fit process, including organising and running all fit sessions, along with managing & updating the critical path. You will be working within a small, fast-paced team as well as working closely with our teams in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

    Major responsibilities…

  • General organization of the technical department

  • Preparing samples for fit sessions: setting up fit logs, measuring & steaming

  • Coordinate all fittings from first proto through to final pre-production sample

  • Attending fit sessions: typing notes & taking photos

  • Sewing mock ups & toiling garments

  • General admin including updating the Critical Path, specification sheets, care label approvals & fit logs

  • Maintain consistency of quality and fit across suppliers and throughout the product range

  • Any other duties required by the Technical team

  • Communicate fit, quality and construction requirements to suppliers through sample comments

  • Ongoing Quality Control checks and evaluations

  • Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Educated to degree level preferably in relevant field of study

  • 3 years experience in similar position

  • Ability to formulate and advise on graded specs

  • Working understanding of pattern cutting

  • A good knowledge of garment construction methods and manufacturing sewing operations, including pattern making, grading and marking processes

  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office
