An exciting Trainee Merchandiser opportunity has arisen, with a retailer on the Scottish Borders offering a competitive salary. The main purpose will be to support the Merchandiser in all aspects of the function as well as maintain strong working relationships with internal and external bodies, in particular Buyers, Warehouse and suppliers.

The Trainee Merchandiser role will heavily involve assisting and reporting to the Merchandiser with their duties such as building range plans by category, forecasting sales and stock, reporting on opportunities and providing solutions for risk management. You will be working closely with the suppliers, buying and QA to maximise product availability within stock and warehousing constraints. You will also be expected to produce daily, weekly or monthly reports for the team.
Your main responsibility as a Trainee Merchandiser will be the allocation of new and repeat lines to stores in line with the range plan requirements.
In addition, you will carry out regular weekly reviews of Distribution Centre stocks and suggest grade extensions or increasing profiles, by manually allocating additional stock to stores based on sales performance. You will also update delivery schedules with new shipment details and highlight late deliveries to the Merchandisers and Buyers.

The ideal candidate for the Trainee Merchandiser role will be at graduate level either with an Analytical or Business related degree looking to pursue a career in Fashion Merchandising. Applications will be considered from those keen to pursue a career in Fashion Merchandising and show a good understanding of the role. You will have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise work-loads and also have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
