Our products are produced in some of the most technically advanced plants in the world and this role is key to ensure the efficient operation of our plant and machinery. Production at our Wellingborough site is 24/7 and performance and efficiency is reliant on excellent engineering practice.

We are currently seeking to recruit a full time Days based Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team at Wellingborough, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager.

The role will suit a self-motivated, hands on and enthusiastic individual, ideally coming from a multi-skilled food industry background. Experience of electrical and PLC control systems, with good mechanical aptitude and an understanding of pneumatics are preferable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work with the Maintenance Supervisor and CBM Technician to help coordinate and plan daily work for the team, ensuring continuity
  • To provide support to the on-site Maintenance Technicians by providing some out of hours telephone support, and where necessary on-site attendance during call-outs
  • To efficiently and safely operate all maintenance equipment and tools
  • To assist the department in achieving a zero accident rate and annual reduction in number of work-related accidents. To work to actively reduce the number of near misses within the department
  • Ensure all maintenance paperwork is maintained and up to date, and signed off by relevant personnel where necessary
  • Maximise the efficiency of the plant using sound engineering practices
  • Help minimise downtime by responding efficiently to breakdowns and continually working to identify ways to further reduce downtime
  • Ensuring that appropriate risk assessments are completing before commencing certain maintenance tasks
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are prioritised appropriately and completed in a timely manner

  • Experience in a similar role in a fast moving, high volume production or manufacturing environment.
