We are now looking to recruit a number of Process and Industrial Engineers to be a part of our busy Industrial Engineering department to be based at the Hull blade production facility. We are looking for committed and motivated Process and Industrial Engineers in the areas of:
- Manufacturing of composites including fiber glass layup and infusion
- Composites repair and curing technologies
- Surface treatment
What are my responsibilities?
As a Process and Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for providing solutions for process related issues and supporting the blade factory in optimizing their manufacturing processes. The department is responsible for the development, specification, qualification and optimisation of production methodology and equipment in order to support manufacturing.
Your main focus areas will be to develop the right solutions for "material placement" in blade manufacturing and to lead implementation and standardisation of manufacturing processes and equipment. You will also be responsible for testing and qualification of equipment, materials and processes and documenting processes.
- Actively engage in process optimizations
- Coordinate the development and deployment of new pre-manufacturing processes as necessary to support the manufacturing area.
- Initiate and support LEAN projects.
- Plan processes, workflow, and accident prevention measures to maintain optimum and safe utilization of plant resources.
- Anticipate issues with process and material implementation and provide timely feedback and information to employees as appropriate.
- Create necessary reports to communicate to peers and management.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Ideally, you will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Composite Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, Manufacturing Technology or other similar subjects. We are also willing to consider applicants who are qualified by experience in an engineering discipline
You will have experience in designing and improving work processes in a manufacturing environment along with experience in inline process control. You will have strong knowledge in MS Office Suite, including Excel, and PowerPoint.
Any experience in AutoCAD is highly desirable. An understanding or experience of lean manufacturing processes is also desirable.
This role requires someone who has a structured approach to their work and is able to handle simultaneous assignments without losing overview. You will also possess the ability to work both independently as well as in teams. Lastly, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
