Using state-of-the-art facilities, you'll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

The Advanced Emissions Team is part of Powertrain Test Operations. The department delivers test capability which supports design, development and validation of Powertrain systems from base calibration through certification and legislative compliance testing. The department operates a range of measurement and test facilities which are used to verify and sign-off vehicle and system level targets.

The Lead Engineer will lead the Automation and Emissions Test Support team, who are responsible for developing next generation test cell automation capability, continuously improving data quality standards, ensuring a high level of test delivery, and introducing new technology and methodology for emissions testing across engine test, transmission / driveline / hybrid test, chassis-dynamometer test, and on-road emissions test (PEMS) activities. You'll coordinate the activities of the team members in line with these responsibilities by building a collaborative and caring culture which is based on a customer first mind-state and placing quality and analytic excellence at the forefront of everything which the team delivers.


With a passion for the automotive industry, you'll demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of vehicle exhaust emissions testing systems, vehicle test processes and future global legislative trends within emissions. You'll have experience with chassis dynamometers or engine test beds, and the associated test data analytics and reporting

In addition, experience leading, coordinating and motivating technical teams is essential, as are strong communication and data analysis skills, including: correlation studies, uncertainty analysis, statistical analysis, error propagation. You'll be educated to degree level with a BSc or BEng in a physical science, mechanical, or systems engineering discipline with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents
