A well established, mid-tier Accountancy firm requires the services of an experienced Business Services Assistant/Senior to join its Glasgow based team. The Company This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing Business Services/Accounting team within a well-known Scottish firm. They have clients of all sizes, mainly in the SME market, and they have expertise that covers every sector. The Role This position has arisen due to the continued expansion of the client-base and with a view to long-term succession planning. This challenging position comes with a varied workload and a diverse portfolio of clients and an ability to multi-task will be essential. Within this team, you will have a client portfolio of SMEs with turnover of up to £10million. Responsibilities Preparation of complex year-end limited company, partnership and sole trader accounts Review of year-end limited company, partnership and sole trader accounts Preparation and review of VAT returns (including partial exemption adjustments) Preparation of financial forecasts Lead other ad hoc advisory assignments Support manager in the training and development of junior staff Maintain relationships with client stakeholders On Offer This role comes with a competitive salary, depending on experience, and the opportunity for career progression. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience: A part qualified or qualified accountant is preferred but QBEs with broad practical accounting experience will be considered Previous experience in Public Practice is essential Significant experience of: Preparation of year-end accounts Review of year- accounts Preparation and review of VAT returns Strong business acumen and capacity to influence and convince Strong interpersonal and client handling skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong numerical and IT skills
