Job Title: Console and Door Trim Feasibility Engineer

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
*Working in studio engineering department, the key task will be to develop early interior trim concepts to ensure interior models have full engineering feasibility to meet project gateway requirements.
*Support all design projects developing interior trim solutions meeting all performance targets within timing requirements.
*Advanced surfacing and modelling requirements using Catia V5.
*Regular phone conferences and communication with China will be required.
*Report directly to Interior Style Feasibility function leader and Style Feasibility senior manager
*CAD Design ? must be fully proficient in use of CATIA V5 for engineering model release, including solid modelling, generative shape design, kinematics, product structuring etc.
*Local CAD modelling to prove concept in critical areas
*Generation of comprehensive section book
*Support lead/principle engineers in developing feasible cost-effective solutions
*Support all style feasibility programmes as directed
*Generate early interior trim concepts, including centre consoles, door casings, upper canopy and lower trim environment parts, from styling surfaces, to support detailed development through to production.
*Feasibility analysis from early concepts to engineering hand over to meet interior trim requirements.
*Liaise with the respective departments, including packaging, styling, manufacturing, body structures, electrical, and global trim departments to support interior development.
*Support all timing requirements by working to studio engineering process and schedules.
*Attend cross functional design reviews to support from interior trim.
*Solutions must support system/project targets including quality, cost/mass or performance.
*Support for benchmark of competitive vehicles for trends, support vehicle teardown activities to analyse components and report findings.
*There will be an expectation for knowledge of market and legal trends/requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
*Significant and demonstrable experience of working in a style feasibility environment.
*10 + years of detailed design experience of various interior trim components, including centre consoles, door casings, headliners, carpet, NVH, post finishers etc.
*A good understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with the above-mentioned components.
*5+ CAD experience.
*2+ years Catia V5 experience.
*Experience and understanding of TeamCentre would be highly advantageous
*Good IT and effective communication skills both verbally and via email, PPT etc.

*Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:45pm and Friday 08:00am to 12:00pm.
*Flexibility is required to support phone conferences with China which occasionally start earlier than the times designated.
