Applications are invited for a vacancy within the University of Edinburgh’s Service Excellence Finance Programme Team. We are looking for skills and experience in the following areas: • Business knowledge/subject matter expertise on Finance processes, procedures and systems. • Business analysis skills; • Project management skills; • Strong communication skills with ability to work as part of a team; and • Interest in and/or experience of contributing to business change. This post is offered on a secondment/Fixed term basis of 12 months. All Programme Team members will undertake a range of tasks to support the delivery of the projects within the overall programme, including: • Developing the detailed analysis of a particular service area, involving business process data collection, analysis, process mapping and evaluation through workshops, meetings and desk work; • Project managing sub-projects within the Finance transformation programme. (Using MS Project); • Development of detailed options, associated costs and benefits and the development of final business cases for presentation to programme boards; • Following on from the development of options, the development and documentation of detailed solutions; • Support and involvement in the procurement process for new systems; • The implementation of business change and the monitoring and reporting of benefits realisation post-implementation; and , crucially • Engagement and communication with programme stakeholders throughout the programme. This post is offered as an initial contract/secondment for a period of 12 months (with possibility of extension). Successful applicants will be asked to join the project team within 4 to 6 weeks of being offered the post.
