Well established corporate training company based on Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate in Ipswich, are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper 12-15 hours per week (Tuesdays & Fridays preferred). Self employed status is also preferred but will also consider employed.

We would like you to work from our office, and must be experienced in working for SME’s. Excellent knowledge of Sage 50/Sage Payroll and Excel is also essential.

Typical duties include:
  • Dealing with all invoicing/invoice queries
  • Filing invoices, travels claims and other payments
  • Entering new payees into the bank account
  • Supplier reconciliations
  • Petty cash and bank reconciliations
  • Credit control
  • Preparation of VAT Returns
  • Purchase Ledger
  • PAYE payments and returns
  • Payroll
  • Pension (auto enrolment) administration
  • Dealing with Accounts general telephone and electronic enquiries
  • Excel reporting
  • Liaising with company accountants in respect of year end accounts
Other qualities required:
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Technically competent in Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Payroll
  • Ability to analyse and identify areas for improvement, making commercial recommendations to improve cost performance
  • Confident communicator who will easily fit within the existing sociable team
  • Ability to work unsupervised, as well as being able to work as part of the team
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a hands on approach
  • Professional manner
