A very established and growing company are looking for a skilled bookkeeper to work alongside the Accounts Manager to accurately record and maintain all the day to day financial records for the Company. The bookkeeper will be required to create and analyse financial reports and ensure compliance with legal requirements. They will also be responsible for the monthly payroll.

Duties include:

  • Recording financial transactions
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable ledgers
  • Posting daily receipts
  • Payment of regular bills and all supplier accounts
  • Managing Company Bank Accounts and completing weekly reconciliations
  • Managing Company credit card accounts
  • Encoding entries for data processing
  • Cash Flow Management
  • Handling accruals and prepayments
  • Completing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Processing monthly payroll and business expenses
  • Preparing information for auditors
  • Assist Company Accountant on tax return preparation
  • Helping to prepare annual accounts
  • Managing P & L statements
  • Completing year end analysis for both the Company accounts and payroll
  • Dealing with the daily mail & distributing as necessary
  • Providing admin and clerical support as necessary

Skills required:

  • Proven bookkeeping/accounts experience
  • Proficiency with Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding the Payroll
  • Be able to interpret data with good numerical skills and have excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent organisational skills to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Be highly motivated and work effectively alone under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Be able to develop strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Salary: £21,000

Hours of work: 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
